Electrical Regulations 1994, Regulation 47. Eligibility to become Competent Electrical Engineer.
=============================
(1) A person, in order to be considered eligible to sit for the examination for a Certificate of Competency as a Competent Electrical Engineer, shall satisfy the Commission that he complies with the following conditions:
(a) that he is a Malaysian citizen;
(b) that he holds a Degree or the equivalent qualification to a degree in electrical engineering or electrical and electronic engineering from a recognised university or institution;
(c) that he is a Professional Engineer in electrical engineering or electronic engineering registered with the Board of Engineers under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967;
(d) in the case of a Professional Engineer in electrical engineering, that he has not less than five (5) years working experience in an environment in the power sector where electrical equipment is in operation and has had experience of controlling live equipment; and
(da) in the case of a Professional Engineer in electronic engineering, that he has not less than eight (8) years working experience in an environment in the power sector where electrical equipment is in operation and has had experience of controlling live equipment; and
(e) that he is able to speak and write in the national language; and
(f) that he is able to comply with any other conditions as the Board deems necessary
CORRECTIONS IN VIDEO
a. Where there are abbreviations JEP, it is supposed to be JPE for Jurutera Perkhidmatan Elektrik.
b. In the 2nd slide, there is an item on ESA1990 (Electricity Supply Act 1990) amendment on PE Electronics is eligible to go for JEK. ESA1990 should be replaced with ER1994 (Electrical Regulations 1994) amendment 2013.
